SwitchTermJTM

 

SwitchTermJ is a Java based application / applet that provides terminal emulation, secure connection to remote hosts, interactive application ( Telnet, SSH, Ftp, etc. ) task automation using Expect scripting, secure file transfer and advanced keymapping features. It provides accurate and complete terminal emulation, including character-based graphic representations.

 

SwitchTermJ runs on all Java enabled platforms (JS2E 1.4 and above), including Windows ™, Solaris ™, Linux ™, IBM AIX ®, HP-UX ™ and Macintosh. Terminal emulations supported by SwitchTermJ include VT102-VT320, AT&T 615, AT&T 5410 and TN3270. Industry specific terminal emulations are available upon request.


In additioin to the market-proven, terminal emulation features of SwitchTerm5, SwitchTermJ offers::

  • SSH1, SSH2, SFTP, and Telnet connectivity support for fast, reliable and secure communication.

  • Secure authentication, including public key infrastructure is supported by RSA, 3DES and AES cryptographic extensions.

  • Extremely lightweight implementation has only minimal impact on disk space and network bandwidth.

  • SwitchTermJ can be deployed both as a stand alone application and as an applet of a web server.

  • Ability to launch SwitchTermJ session from a browser by registering SwitchTermJ as a browser plug-in.

  • SwitchTermJ Session information may be logged and saved to file for subsequent session analysis.

  • Ability to configure and customize SwitchTermJ Session including color, fonts, window size, menu items etc.

  • Embedded scripting language ( Tcl / Expect ) enables task automation capability and routing of multiple terminal sessions.

  • Universally programmable keys ( Key Mapping ) via graphical editor allows any keyboard key to be reprogrammed to send a specified extended character sequence.

  • Intelligent Screen Scraping features to create hotspots to monitor occurrences of graphic events and invoke custom actions ( e.g. sending email or SMS etc. ) based on events.

 

SwitchTermJ supports character based emulation for most legacy applications, OSS/BSS, switches ( Lucent, Nortel, Motorola, Ericsson, etc.) and routers.
